BEIJING, May 20 -- Heavy to torrential rains have recently lashed multiple areas in southern China, triggering flash floods that have submerged houses and disrupted village roads, power supply, and communications. Troops assigned to the Chinese People's Armed Police (PAP) Force, along with the local militiamen, have been fully committed to emergency rescue and disaster relief operations, helping local residents with post-disaster reconstruction.
