Summary
Machine summaryNaval and air units of the PLA Southern Theater Command conducted combat readiness patrols over Huangyan Dao (Scarborough Shoal) and its surrounding territorial sea and airspace on September 30, with the announcement noting that such patrols have intensified throughout September. The article frames the patrols explicitly as countermeasures to unspecified 'rights-violation and provocative acts,' language that points to ongoing Philippine resupply and presence operations in the area; what the announcement omits is any detail on specific platforms, sortie numbers, or the geographic extent of the patrols, limiting what can be assessed about actual operational scope.
