(Photo by Gao Junwei) WAU, August 25 -- The 16th Chinese Peacekeeping Engineering Contingent to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) in Wau recently visited a local girls' primary school to provide humanitarian assistance. Educational resources are scarce in the Wau mission area of South Sudan, where schools face inadequate teaching conditions and shortages of supplies for cultural and sports activities. The contingent carried out humanitarian assistance activities including Chinese language lessons, traditional Chinese cultural performances, and donations of supplies. School representatives expressed gratitude to the Chinese peacekeeping contingent for its assistance. The peacekeepers will continue to pay attention to the livelihood needs of nearby communities and carry out assistance activities to benefit the local residents.
