By Huang Hao, Wu Xinwei, Hu Dawei and Pei Gaofeng BEIJING, July 7 -- On July 5, 2026, flooding during the rainy season left five forward positions in urgent need of frontline personnel and critical supplies. The United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) assigned an emergency time-critical airlift mission. In response, the 6th Chinese Peacekeeping Military Utility Helicopter Unit to UNISFA adopted a cyclic operating procedure that kept the helicopter's engine running between sorties, carrying out relay airlift operations across the entire mission area. The operation significantly improved the turnaround efficiency of each helicopter, safely airlifted frontline personnel from multiple countries together with urgently needed supplies, and successfully completed all assigned mission objectives on schedule.
