HO CHI MINH CITY, July 6 -- The Chinese PLA Navy task group, composed of training ship Qijiguang (Hull 83) and amphibious dock landing ship Kunlunshan (Hull 998), arrived in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on the morning of July 5, 2026, beginning a four-day friendly visit. During the visit, the training ship Qijiiguang will hold open ship activities. Troops of the task group will visit Vietnamese naval units and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh City, for exchanges and discussions, and take part in friendly ball sports. The task group will also host a deck reception aboard the training ship Qijiguang on the evening of July 8, 2026. During the voyage, Chinese and foreign midshipmen trained together in mixed groups, participating in instruction and training in terrestrial navigation , celestial navigation , common subjects, professional fundamentals, and shipboard internship.
