喜马拉雅山南麓，初夏冰雪渐融。早饭后，西藏山南军分区某边防连炊事班长石美林带着几包家里寄来的零食，踏上后山小路。树梢突然传来阵阵啼叫，一只山猴凌空荡落，蹲在青石板上。 “快来。”石美林笑着扔过去几块饼干，那山猴走近捡起，蹲在山石上啃食起来。这时，几只鼠兔从石缝里探出头，机敏地观察周围动静。那年冬天，石美林和战友从某哨点归营，脚下一滑险些跌倒。他爬起来，猛然发现不远处有一头棕熊。也许是看到官兵受到了惊吓，棕熊突然站起来，嘴里还叼着半截松塔。两人转身撒腿就跑，一口气跑出好远，躲在一块石头后。看着棕熊仍在注意着他们，石美林灵机一动，轻手轻脚地从背包中取出几个肉包子扔过去，棕熊马上大快朵颐起来，他们才得以脱身。哨所周围“熊出没”，这次经历让石美林想起来就后怕。此后每次巡逻，他都要额外备点熟食，“万一遇上‘不速之客’，还可以交个‘过路费’！” 棕熊高大威猛，但一般不会主动攻击人。真正需要官兵提防的是林中的“隐形敌人”——马蜂。 “山里的马蜂，蜇人那是真疼。”一次巡逻途经竹林，闫连长不慎触动了林间的蜂巢，一窝马蜂瞬间扑上来。虽然用头套护住了脸，他的双手却不幸“中招”，肿得像两个馒头。军医帮他用药治疗，半个月后才彻底消肿。危险猝不及防，温情也不会缺席。官兵们用双脚丈量祖国的土地，也悉心守护着生活在这里的“邻居们”。一次，一只山猴从几十米高的树尖失足坠落，哨兵发现时，它正蜷缩在地瑟瑟发抖。官兵们将它带回了哨所，军医检查后发现，它的左前臂骨折，便用夹板为它固定了伤臂。整个治疗过程，这只山猴都在拼命挣扎。大家将它养在库房，每天给它送去一些食物。那段时间，山猴感受到官兵的善意，虽然始终与大家保持距离，眼神却渐渐变得友善。山猴痊愈后，官兵将其放归山林。后来，大家在后山设置“爱心投喂点”。吃剩的馒头、节省的水果、自购的零食……每一份餐食都饱含官兵的善良与真情。如今，前来觅食的“邻居”越来越多。“鼠兔胆子最大，猞猁也常来蹭饭。”石美林娓娓道来，“有时山猴抢不过猞猁，只好躲到树上，嘴里还吱吱呀呀地‘抱怨’着。” 夏天临近，哨所周围好不热闹——野外训练，山猴在林间蹦跳，像是在给大家鼓劲；巡逻归营，林间传来猞猁的叫声，像是给大家接风；夕阳西下，棕熊躲在山林深处，像是与哨所官兵一起站岗放哨。 “铁打的营盘流水的兵，哨所‘邻居’天天见。”闫连长说，“驻守高原哨所，有了这些动物朋友的陪伴，守防生活更多一份暖意、一份乐趣。”
