滇南麻栗坡，枕着老山的苍莽脊梁，山顶界碑巍峨矗立。山脚下的武警云南总队某支队营区，周末夜晚格外热闹——几名年轻战士组成的“小草乐队”正在排练。 “老兵送别晚会即将开演。”消息传来，乐队成员跃跃欲试。这将是“小草乐队”第一次走出深山、登上更大的舞台。坚守深山一隅，官兵们像小草般扎根，把青春的种子播撒在边疆，也希望用歌声记录守山岁月中的热爱。就像他们写在自创歌曲中的一句歌词：“闪耀的舞台不在霓虹灯下，而在遥远的边防线上。” 那段日子，每当夕阳西下，营区石阶旁，乐队集合排练。入伍前就会弹吉他的列兵鲁江轻拨琴弦，架子鼓手、下士黄海龙娴熟伴奏，主唱卢贤治歌声飞扬，列兵张辉负责和声。伴着《小草》的旋律，官兵们你一言我一语填词，创作了“军营版《小草》”：“哨所有月光，钢枪有分量，老山云海上，是我站岗的地方。” 退伍前夕，天幕缀满星光。鲁江抱起吉他，为即将离队的战友送上一曲《送别》。旋律滚烫，老兵们不禁红了眼眶。依依惜别，老兵们轻拍着年轻战士的肩膀，眼神中尽是不舍。他们转身望向远山，大声唱起那首队歌：“九月是一本风轻云淡的书，我们把故事写进书里，把老山的云装进行囊，这里永远是故乡。”那晚，歌声在营区上空久久回荡。翌年春节，支队战友收到了乐队前主唱、一级上士钟晓斌写来的信。几年前，钟晓斌脱下军装，离开了亲手组建的乐队，老班长在信中写满不舍：“每次眺望家乡的山，总会想起曾经守望的山，想起与战友一起哼唱那首《远山》……青春岁月不会流逝，战友兄弟一直在身边。” 那天，指导员把这封饱含深情的信念给大家听。空气中弥漫着伤感，乐队成员取来乐器，再次演奏了那首《远山》。山谷寂静，晚风轻拂战士的脸庞，这一刻内心的温暖，只有守山的人才懂。新兵徐涛森从小在城市长大，一脚踏进深山营区，心便沉了半截。周末傍晚，乐队成员在山坡上排练。点亮一盏灯，吹着傍晚的风，黄海龙专程邀请徐涛森作为“特约嘉宾”，一起唱那首改编的《平凡之路》。 “你来自人海，奔向山海来，老山的风里，藏着你的热爱。”一曲唱罢，黄海龙把一本卷了边的《小草歌集》递到徐涛森手中。集子里记录着一首首被时光浸染的歌，一句句只属于这个支队的词。 “小草朴实无华，却将根系深深扎向大地……”黄海龙说，“我们坚守深山，也需要这种顽强的精神。”那晚，徐涛森翻看歌集中战友的“自创歌词”，心中也有了灵感。不久，歌集里多了一首新词：“从前怕远方，如今守边疆，心若扎了根，何处不是家。” 在这个深山支队，“小草乐队”的歌总能唱出官兵的心声——那些歌里有凌晨的星光，有雨季湿透的迷彩，有烈日下滚烫的钢枪，有除夕夜里望着山外万家灯火时的骄傲。如今的他们，又开始创作下一首新歌。
