Summary

Machine summary

On the evening of November 1, the PLAAF opened its 77th founding-anniversary series — "Seeking Roots, Chasing Dreams, Forging Ahead in Flight" — with a 2,000-drone light show over Zhuhai, Guangdong, displaying silhouettes of the J-20, J-35A, and J-16 alongside the slogans 空天一体攻防兼备 ("integrated aerospace, capable of both offense and defense") and 奋飞新时代 ("soaring into a new era"). Upcoming events include an Air Force August 1st Aerobatic Team flyover of the Huangyaguan Great Wall in Tianjin and a "Red Eagle" Aerobatic Team flyover of Blue Sky Park in Changchun by the Air Force Aviation University. The choice to foreground the J-35A — the PLAAF's newest stealth fighter — alongside system-of-systems framing (体系能力) documents how the service is publicly anchoring its anniversary messaging to fifth-generation platforms and aerospace domain integration, rather than legacy achievements.
