Summary

Machine summary

The CMC Political Work Department, co-producing with the Central Party History and Literature Research Institute and China Media Group, will air the seven-episode documentary 'The Great Expedition' on CCTV's prime-time slot beginning October 15, timed to the 90th anniversary of the Long March's conclusion. The production is standard political-work content keyed to a commemorative milestone; its analytical value is as a record of how the institution is currently packaging Long March mythology to reinforce Xi's authority — specifically the 'Two Establishments' (两个确立, the doctrine enshrining Xi's core status) and 'Two Upholds' (两个维护, loyalty to Xi personally and the Party center) — alongside the 2027 army-building centenary goal (建军一百年奋斗目标).
