1933年，当荒芜的大地渐露葳蕤，中国工农红军在誓词中郑重宣告：“我们是工农的儿子……为着工农解放奋斗到底。”这支部队，从来都是来自人民，从来都是为人民而战斗。我们的党、我们的军队从诞生的那一刻起，就把自己的性质和宗旨鲜明地写在旗帜上，也获得了来自人民的最大信任和支持。我们的人民不会忘却，那支衣衫褴褛的队伍给他们留下半条被子，留下清澈甘甜的红井水，留下土地与新生活的希望……近代时期，中国大地不知出现过多少大小军阀的队伍，唯有这支军队未曾带来摧毁与侵犯。我们的部队不会忘却，父老乡亲们质朴而真诚的守护：最后的一碗饭，送去做军粮；最后的一尺布，送去做军装；最后的老棉被，盖在担架上；最后的亲骨肉，含泪送战场……据统计，当年24万人口的瑞金，共有11.3万人参军参战。于都1.7万余人随红军出发长征，活着看到全中国解放那一天的，仅有277人。延安的一孔窑洞中，当美国记者斯诺疑惑于红军战斗力为何如此强大，毛泽东深深吸了一口烟，这样回答道——“红军是群众的军队，民众无微不至地支持红军；除非先消灭爱护红军的民众，否则没有办法消灭红军……”彝海之畔，当碗中的清水与鲜血相互浸染，这支军队的根系正悄然深扎大地，与这片热土上的人民群众血脉交融。爱我人民爱我军。没有一种根基，比扎根人民更坚实；没有一种力量，比军民团结更伟大。历史早已诉说了一个颠扑不破的真理：谁把人民放在心上，人民就会把谁举过头顶。无论未来风云如何变幻，无论战争形态怎样改变，来自人民、为了人民、依靠人民，始终是我们这支军队压倒一切敌人而不被任何敌人所压倒的制胜之本、征服一切困难而不被任何困难所征服的力量之源。
