某部机关部门一位领导在基层蹲点时，发现“双争”评比表格较多、环节繁琐，官兵疲于应付。他没有“会上讲讲问题、提提要求”，而是带着疑问沉到连队，把存在的症结一项项梳理清楚，反复研议后拿出一套简化措施，努力让基层官兵从“围着表格转”中解脱出来，把更多精力投入练兵备战。同样是发现问题，有人止于“看到了”，有人却追问“为什么、怎么办”；同样是推动工作，有人止于“说过了”，有人却坚持“做到位、抓到底”。两者的差距在于，后者多想了一层、多做了一步。现实中，有的同志尽管忙忙碌碌，但忙而无效、碌碌无为，一个重要原因，就是思考少一层、行动差一步，满足于当“传声筒”，缺少深入抓、抓到底的精神。归根到底，在于思想上的懒惰和作风上的漂浮。遇事多想一层，体现的是思维的深度，不被表象牵着走，深入探究事物的本质和规律；多做一步，体现的是落实的力度，不被困难挡住前行的脚步，往实处落、往细处抓。很多时候，多想的这一层，捅破的就是“窗户纸”；多做的这一步，抓住的就是“牛鼻子”。战士情绪低落，多往深处想一想，是不是家里出了状况，主动靠上去谈心交心，就能帮助其解开思想疙瘩。练兵备战更是如此。战法研究中，指挥员多研究一遍战场态势、多了解一下作战对手、多查找一些自身短板，就能找到制胜招法、打通制胜链路；装备保障中，官兵多做一遍细节核查、隐患排查，就能堵住一个漏洞、防范一次险情。当然，多想、多做并非止于“一层”和“一步”。某部一名工程师在排除某型装备疑难故障时，本可按维修手册开展工作。但他脑海中多打了个问号：为什么这里容易出故障？于是，他从单一故障排查拓展到系列隐患分析，从解决一个问题上升到构建一套检测标准，最终编写出该型装备的故障排查操作规范。正是这种层层递进地想、步步深入地做，让他实现了由“处置一件事”到“规范一类事”的跨越。其实，很多成就的取得，都是一层连着一层想、一步接着一步干的结果。回望榜样足迹，谷文昌治沙没有满足于“种树固沙”的局部改观，而是将其与重绿化、兴水利、造良田全面结合，最终让荒岛变绿洲、荒山变林海。多想一层、多做一步，说起来容易，做起来却并不轻松。与动动嘴巴、提提要求相比，它往往需要耗费更多精力、投入更多心血。正因为不易，才更见担当；正因为难得，才更显可贵。唯有把多想一层、多做一步当成工作习惯，才能把“简单”做得“不简单”、把“平凡”干成“不平凡”。养成多想一层、多做一步的工作习惯，需要有责任心，视岗位为战位，时时认真、事事求真、处处较真；需要下功夫钻研，跳出浅层认知，吃透内在机理；需要具备坚韧品格，绵绵用力、久久为功，善始善终、善作善成。强军无小事，打赢有标准。平时多想的每一层、多做的每一步，都是在为未来战场增加一分胜算。
