Summary

Machine summary

The Long March 6C Yao-1 — a new variant making its maiden flight — lifted off from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center at 11:21 on August 25, delivering seven satellites into orbit on its first mission, including two Chinese Academy of Sciences remote-sensing satellites, two Muduo commercial satellites, and Galaxy Space's Lingzhi-09 Thailand CubeSat, a commercial export payload. The manifest documents the increasingly mixed civil-commercial-military character of Chinese rideshare launches: August 1st-04, whose name follows a PLA-associated naming convention, flew alongside commercial and foreign payloads on the same vehicle. What remains unknown is the operator and function of August 1st-04.
