7月27日，王焯冉烈士生前母校、河南省漯河市郾城区龙塔街道东街小学开展“铭记英雄志传承报国心”暑期特色国防教育课，烈士母亲杨素香和20余名少先队员代表参加。课堂上，学生们拿起画笔创作手抄报。“杨妈妈，看我们画的喀喇昆仑，那里的雪有这么厚吗？”大家拿着手抄报向杨素香展示。 “画得真好！有战士们巡逻的身影，这里还有界碑、红旗、雪山，和现实场景一样。”杨素香抱着一摞书挨个递到学生手中。“孩子们，这些是我挑选的红色故事书，有《火线上的孩子们》《杨司令的少先队》。”杨素香说，“这些书，焯冉小时候也爱看，希望你们长大后像他那样，做对国家、对社会有用的人。”
