“中国共产党广泛听取并尊重民意，无论这些意见来自党内还是来自党外。”在中国共产党成立105周年之际，美国库恩基金会主席罗伯特·劳伦斯·库恩接受新华社记者专访时说，“这是中国创造发展奇迹的重要秘诀之一。” 库恩研究观察中国30多年。他说，自己“以亲历者和观察者的双重身份看到一个无可争辩的事实”——中国共产党团结带领中国人民取得了奇迹般的发展成就。库恩说，要读懂中国共产党，首先要认识到它代表最广大人民的根本利益，坚持以人民为中心，致力于提升中国人民的整体福祉。相比之下，一些西方政党通常只代表某些群体的利益。库恩表示，中国共产党强大的组织体系确保各项政策得到贯彻落实。“以中国历史性的脱贫攻坚为例，我目睹了这一过程。正是在中共中央总体部署和安排下，省、市、县、乡、村共同行动起来，各司其职、协调配合，最终实现历史性消除绝对贫困。” 库恩认为，中国共产党不断取得胜利的秘诀还包括党员干部队伍建设。“通过选拔、教育、培训、监督与考核，培育出高水准的行政与管理人才，这一过程严格且可持续。” 库恩指出，中国共产党通过中央八项规定和党内集中教育活动等不断加强作风建设。同时，中国共产党持续推进反腐败斗争，并将制度建设贯穿于反腐败斗争的每一个环节。 “惩治腐败、整治‘四风’和防止权力滥用，是中国共产党自我革命的具体体现。”他说。库恩说，中国共产党历来重视党建工作，习近平党建思想就是其集中体现，展现了中国共产党坚定推进党的自我革命、加强自身建设的决心。库恩说，中国共产党善于自我评估并主动调整政策。通过这种扎根实际、务实高效的治理，中国共产党必将带领中国人民全面建成社会主义现代化强国。 “如果一千年之后，人类编写其政治制度的历史书，今日之中国，将成为一个政党何以能领导建设一个富强民主文明和谐美丽国家的经典案例。”库恩说。
