6月10日，国务院台办举行例行新闻发布会。有记者问，国务院台办发言人在之前发布会上已分别阐释了和平统一后台湾“七个更好”中的五个“更好”，受到两岸舆论高度关注。请问发言人对“和平统一后，有强大祖国做后盾，台湾安全保障会更好”有何阐释? 发言人张晗答问表示，和平统一后，有强大祖国做后盾，台湾人民将更安全，“台独”带来的战争风险将从根源上被消除，台湾民众不再被“台独”裹挟当炮灰，民众的血汗钱不再被挥霍用于购买军火，民宅、宫庙不会存放弹药，外部势力干涉两岸中国人内部事务的黑手将被彻底斩断。台湾将不再是外部势力的棋子，不再是民进党当局勾连外部势力妄图打造的“火药桶”、“地雷岛”和地狱景象，摆脱随时被“台独”和外部势力葬送的命运。台湾经济将可持续稳定发展，产业链、供应链将更自主可控、安全可靠，实现高质量发展和高水平安全的良性结合。台湾渔民在台湾岛周边海域生产作业的合法权益，将获得国家海上力量及时有力的保护。张晗表示，和平统一后，台湾将成为和平、安全、繁荣之岛，由全体中华儿女共同守护，台湾同胞可以在和平安宁的环境中，真正过上安居乐业的美好生活，充分享受祖国统一、民族复兴的太平岁月。
