大坡界的回响 ■李宜武不久前，我来到湘黔交界的湖南省通道侗族自治县溪口镇小水村，寻访红6军团八勇士英勇跳崖的发生地——大坡界。大坡界位于小水村西北侧，数座树林密集的山峦，组成一道拱卫小水村的天然屏障。1934年9月14日，任弼时、萧克、王震等率领执行长征先遣任务的红6军团，经过连续数天行军，在进入大坡界脚下峡谷地带时，突然与国民党湘军第55旅遭遇。敌军占据两侧高地猛烈开火，红军部队顿时被拦腰截成两段。大坡界峡谷悬崖壁立，谷底无险可守。千钧一发之际，红18师前卫排得到命令：立即抢占侧翼高地，以佯攻吸引敌人火力，掩护主力突围。面对九死一生的任务，30余名官兵毫不迟疑，抬着重机枪，像猛虎一样朝山上冲去。背后骤然响起的枪声令敌大惊，以为红军援兵赶到，于是慌忙调转火力猛攻山腰。霎时，迫击炮弹与机枪子弹如冰雹般倾泻在阵地上。前卫排30余名官兵，多是十六七岁的“红小鬼”，年纪虽轻，却个个斗志如钢。战斗中，战友在射击位倒下，立刻有人顶替上去；重机枪枪管烧红，他们渴得喉咙冒火，却把仅存的水全浇上降温；子弹、手榴弹打光了，就抡起石块、端着刺刀扑向敌人…… 经过3个多小时的激战，前卫排打退敌军5次冲锋，始终像钢闸一样封住峡谷，令敌人无法向红军主力逼近一步。20多名官兵相继牺牲，最后只剩8名遍体鳞伤的战士坚守阵地。当弹药消耗殆尽时，他们就用石头砸；石头砸光了，他们仍威风凛凛地挺立在阵地上。敌人正面强攻不能得逞，便绕到山后迂回包抄。300多个敌人蜂拥冲上山顶，8名红军官兵被逼到悬崖边。此时，前面是深渊，后面是恶敌，英雄的战士们毅然砸毁枪支，整好染血的军装，手挽着手，高呼“红军万岁”，纵身跃下悬崖。这一跃气壮山河，威震敌胆。八勇士中有6人当场牺牲，2人重伤被俘。两名伤员面对敌人的严刑拷打和威逼利诱，始终坚贞不屈，最终被残忍杀害。在大坡界激战中牺牲的红军战士为红18师的顺利突围争取了宝贵时间。战后得知，当时，湖南军阀何键命令李觉率第19师和第55旅共8个团兵力向靖县、通道逼近，桂军2个师也尾追而来。时任红6军团军团长的萧克后来回忆说，红6军团如果未能及时跳出大坡界峡谷，后果将不堪设想。小水战斗后，当地百姓冒着危险收殓烈士遗体，安葬在大坡界悬崖下。此后，乡亲们一代接一代地守护战斗遗址，守护长眠大坡界的红军烈士。1991年，小水战斗纪念碑在大坡界山腰落成，萧克为纪念碑题词：“红军精神永存。” 时过90余载，这个春日，我伫立在大坡界山腰的纪念碑前，向英雄鞠躬默哀。这一刻，我看到侗乡百姓们敬献的花篮、供品，排满了纪念碑周围。山谷间风声如吟，仿佛仍回荡着当年八勇士跳崖时那一声“红军万岁”的绝响。
