新华社惠灵顿6月4日电中国驻新西兰大使馆网站4日发布消息说，使馆发言人就新少数议员窜台后中方对其采取限制入境等措施发表谈话。发言人说，近期，新西兰少数议员不顾中方严重关切、坚决反对及事先一再警告，执意以议员身份窜访中国台湾地区，其间会见了多名当地政治人物。相关言行并见诸当地媒体，造成恶劣政治影响，向台民进党当局和“台独”势力发出了错误信号。这些议员的行为，违反一个中国原则，是对中国内政的干涉。根据中华人民共和国相关法律，中方决定对有关人员采取禁止入境等措施。发言人说，一个中国原则是国际社会普遍共识和国际关系基本准则，也是中新关系的政治基础。在台民进党当局严重背离“九二共识”、公然挑战一个中国原则、在推动“台独”的道路上越走越远的今天，严格恪守一个中国原则就更加重要。议员不是普通公民，中方一贯反对包括新在内的与中国建交国家立法机构成员访台，此次亦不例外，新方不应感到意外。发言人说，我们奉劝有关方面切实尊重中国主权和领土完整，严格恪守一个中国原则。在台湾问题上踩线越界，无论是谁，必将付出代价。
