前不久，上任刚3个月的武警广西总队桂林支队某中队黄指导员，迎来了第一次上级工作考评。这次考评标准高、要求严，虽然他对中队的基本情况已经比较熟悉，可心里还是有些没底。 “第二季度以来，中队建设总体平稳……”考评当天，黄指导员照着汇报材料，从“官兵思想总体稳定”讲到“训练成绩稳步提升”，从“安全无事故”说到“基层建设有序”，一通介绍下来，大多是对中队建设的正向评价。汇报结束，教导员没有直接点评，而是提问道：“你刚才讲官兵思想平稳，我了解到队里有个战士小李，最近家里遇到些情况，吃不下饭、睡不着觉，你知道是怎么回事吗？” 黄指导员一愣，没想到教导员连一个战士的具体情况都摸得一清二楚。他定了定神，这才把小李的情况一五一十作了介绍。原来小李的母亲近期因病住院，家里负担重，小李心里挂念，连续多日情绪低落，训练状态也受到影响。黄指导员说，自己已经在关注这件事，正在筹划帮困措施。听完介绍，教导员点了点头，说：“看得出，你其实是掌握情况的，可汇报的时候为什么不讲？是觉得这些零零碎碎的事情摆不上台面，还是怕不足之处说多了显得工作没做到位？” 教导员看着他说：“你刚当主官，想把中队最好的一面展示出来，可以理解。中队整体的工作是平稳的，这值得肯定，但工作只有表面光鲜还不够。咱们带兵，势必要跟具体人具体事打交道。能够帮一名战士解决问题，胜过汇报说十句‘整体稳定’。” “当主官，政绩观要摆正。把身子沉到官兵中间去，用行动说话、用事实说话，比把材料写得漂亮更有说服力。”教导员补充道。黄指导员忽然意识到，这段时间自己花了太多心思去琢磨怎么把材料写得稳妥美观，却忽略了梳理那些真正该下力气去办的事。真正的工作成绩，从来不是仅靠汇报材料撑起的。从那天开始，他把汇报稿放在抽屉最底层，一有空就拿着小本直奔班排宿舍。跟战士们一起训练，和班长骨干一起琢磨调整组训方法；拉着警士骨干坐下来，听他们讲中队日常那些“没写进汇报里”的小事；与小李促膝谈心，听他诉说家中情况和自身顾虑，随后与他商量如何解决难题…… 一段时间下来，黄指导员有了更深感触：过去总爱说些客套话，担心摆出问题会显得工作没做好，如今看来其实不然。多做实在事，敢把问题摆出来、能把问题解决好，才是一名合格带兵人真正的成绩和应有的底气。
